Vector keeps as little about you as it can. We don't ask for your name or email address, don't show ads, don't sell anything about you, and use no third-party analytics or tracking. This page lists everything we keep. Vector is run by Slow Bear Games.
Everyone who plays
- A random player ID, made by your browser and kept there. Our server stores only a scrambled form of it (a hash), which can't be turned back into the ID.
- Your in-game name, if you pick one, and your scores: for each mission you clear, your best time and cost, and the moves that set them. Moves are never shown to anyone else.
- Achievements and badges you earn.
- Play statistics: which days you visited, and the site that linked you here (just its address, like
reddit.com) or the short tag on the link you followed (like
?via=discord); and for each mission you clear, how many of each move you used. We use these to see whether the game is growing and how its mechanics are played. - Bug reports, only if you send one: what you write, the game's version, the mission and moment you were on, your moves if you leave that box ticked, and your browser's name and version (its user agent).
If you sign in
- An ID from Google or Discord that tells us it's you next time. We ask them for nothing else: no name, no email address, no profile.
- Your account: when it was made, your timelines synced between devices, named saves, favorites and name font.
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, for up to 90 days. We store only a scrambled form of it.
- Signed in, your name, scores, badges and name font are shown on the public leaderboards.
If you buy Vector+
Stripe handles the payment as the merchant of record. Stripe collects what a payment needs (such as your card details, email address and country) under its own privacy policy. We never see your card or email address: we keep only Stripe's reference numbers for the payment, the amount and currency, and whether it's paid, refunded or disputed.
Cookies and browser storage
Two cookies, both only for signing in: one during sign-in (10 minutes) and the sign-in cookie above. No advertising or tracking cookies. Your browser also keeps the game's own data (your player ID, name, timelines, settings and the missions you've loaded) in its local storage, which never leaves your device unless the game sends it as described here.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the game and its database. Like any web host it sees your IP address to send you the page and to slow down floods of requests; we don't store it.
- Google and Discord, if you sign in with them.
- Stripe, if you buy Vector+.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your data while the game runs, so your scores and progress stay. Signed in, the Account dialog's Delete my account removes your account and everything kept for it: sign-ins, timelines, saves, favorites, name, scores, statistics, bug reports, achievements and badges. Records of a Vector+ payment are kept, but no longer linked to anything about you, so refunds and chargebacks can still be handled (Stripe also keeps its own records, as tax law requires). Not signed in, use Report a bug from the browser you play in to ask for your data to be deleted.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete or take a copy of your data, and to object to how it's used. Contact us to do any of these. Vector isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep anything about them.
